HIGHLIGHTS OF VIETNAM BY TRAIN (14 days / 13 nights)

Day 1: Arrival Hanoi (D)
You will be picked up at Noi Bai International Airport by our tour guide and transferred to Hanoi for hotel check in. Dinner and stay overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour – Halong (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, check out of the hotel and start your city tour with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Temple of Literature – Vietnam's first university established in 1076, the Hanoi Old Citadel. In the afternoon, you will leave Hanoi for Halong. Check in hotel upon arrival. You can have chance to visit the night market in Halong. Stay overnight in Halong City.
Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Train to Hue (B/L/D)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the harbour to take a boat trip to Halong Bay to visit Thien Cung Grotto, Dau Go Cave, Ga Troi Islet etc. Lunch with seafood will be served on board. After disembarkation, you will return to Hanoi. You will take a visit to the famous Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple. Then take your dinner before moving to railway station for a night train to Hue. Stay overnight on train.
Day 4: Hue City Tour (B/L)
Arrival Hue early morning, you will check in hotel (if hotel is available) then take breakfast. After taking a short rest, you will visit Hue city - the World Cultural Heritage, the seven-story Thien Mu pagoda by Huong River, the Imperial Citadel. In the afternoon, you will visit the elaborate tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh and Tu Duc. You will take a stop at local families to learn how Vietnam’s famous traditional conical hats (also called “poem hat”) and colourful incense sticks are made. Stay overnight in Hue.
Day 5: Hue – Danang – Hoian (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have chance to visit Dong Ba market to experience Hue’s products then head to Danang. Lunch will be at a restaurant. Take a stop to visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountain on the way to Hoian. Upon arrival, check in hotel. Stay overnight in Hoian.
Day 6: Hoian – My Son – Hoian (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will move to visit My Son to explore the World Cultural Heritage of the Cham people. Move back to Hoian. In the afternoon, you’ll take a walking tour to visit Hoian – the ancient town, The World Cultural Heritage. Take a visit to the ancient merchants’ houses, Hokkien temple, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge. Stay overnight in Hoian.
Day 7: Hoian – Danang – Train to Nha Trang (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be free until transferred to Danang railway station for a train trip to Nha Trang. Upon arrival in Nha Trang, check in hotel. Stay overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 8: Nha Trang (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will move to the harbor for a boat cruise to Nha Trang Bay then back to Nha Trang to visit the Oceanic Museum. After lunch you will visit the city, the Ponagar Tower and hot spring. Stay overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 9: Nha Trang – Dalat (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave Nha Trang for Dalat. You will be surprised with beautiful sceneries along the way up the mountains to the highlands. In the afternoon, you will visit the Summer Palace of Emperor Bao Dai, the last King in Vietnam, Xuan Huong Lake, and drop by Dalat Market to see a variety of flowers and vegetables native to the region. You will be free to explore the highland city at night. Stay overnight in Dalat.
Day 10: Dalat – Saigon (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave Dalat for Saigon. Some stops for you on the way to visit Prenn and Dambri Waterfalls, the “float fishing villages” at La Nga, the rubber, tea and coffee plantations. Take a visit to a traditional fabric cloth-making business on the way. Upon arrival in Saigon, check in hotel. Stay overnight in Saigon.
Day 11: Saigon – Cu Chi – Saigon city tour (B/L)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the extraordinary Cu Chi tunnels. During the US War in Vietnam, Viet Cong guerrillas built the labyrinth of narrow tunnels virtually underneath U.S. bases, using them to hide during bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. On the way, you’ll have chance to see rural people live and work, view occupations such as cashew nut farming, duck breeding, rice farming and production of rice paper, a key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine, then drive back to Saigon for lunch. Half-day city tour in the afternoon includes visits to the former Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Post Office. Take a stop at lacquer-ware workplace before heading to Chinatown and Binh Tay market. Stay overnight in Saigon.
Day 12: Saigon – My Tho – Can Tho (B/L)
8:00 pick up at your hotel after breakfast to transfer to My Tho where you will travel in a motorized boat along the Bao Dinh canal lined with stilt houses and fruit plantations. Visit the My Tho wholesale fruit market and Turtle Island and eat lunch served in the heart of an orchard. Enjoy the continuing boat ride through the Tan Trach canal in Ben Tre, cruise under the shadow of the water coconut trees, and visit family businesses to experience a taste of the agricultural lifestyle. Trek through the fruit plantations on Thoi Son Island and row among the numerous creeks before returning to My Tho by rowboat. Transfer to Can Tho and check in the hotel upon arrival. Evening is free for you to relax. Stay overnight in Can Tho.
Day 13: Can Tho – Saigon (B/L)
Take a boat trip from Ninh Kieu dock to visit Cai Rang Floating Market (one of the biggest and busiest floating markets in the Mekong Delta) where many different fruits and vegetables are being sold and bought by local people who come to the market in very early morning. Drive back to Saigon. Stay overnight in Saigon.
Day 14: Saigon Departure (B)
After breakfast, free at your own leisure or shopping before transfer to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for flight back home sweet home.
