VIETSTAR airlines - a new airline about to start in Vietnam
Vietstar Airlines Multirole Corporation (Vietstar Airlines) has met stringent requirements to launch an airline brand under Vietnamese law, has received approval to operate from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV), and is now waiting for the official permission of the Prime Minister to launch its business.
Vietstar Airlines was established in 2010 and is a unit of the Vietnam Air Defense and Air Force, under the Ministry of National Defense and has charter capital of 800 billion VND (nearly $40 million USD). The airline will participate in the domestic aviation market and provide passenger and cargo transport services. In the first 5 years of operation, the airlines plans to use Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 aircraft.
The core business strategy of Vietstar Airlines is the concentration on domestic routes between the north and south of Vietnam and on aviation routes connecting Vietnam with Northeast and Southeast Asian countries. In addition passenger and cargo transport services the new company will also look at opportunities in aircraft maintenance and repair services.
As Vietnam’s airline industry increases and competition heats up between Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific, Vietjet Air and VASCO, Vietstar Airlines is expects to become a notable airline brand and expects to attract a variety of corporate and institutional investors once its operations have started.
